Huawei has gone to the MWC 2019 with the Huawei MateBook X Pro laptop as the main novelty. This equipment, which extends the X range of the Chinese manufacturer, offers a full-size touch screen of 13.9-inches and aspect ratio 3:2, which occupies 91% of the surface of the front, as explained by the company in its presentation of products. This panel offers a resolution of 3000 x 2000 pixels, a density of 260 dots per inch (PPI) and brightness of 450 nits. According to Huawei, it is the first FullView touch screen present in a laptop. In addition, it is made with Corning Gorilla glass, while the team presents a metallic ‘uni-body’ design. With a weight of 1.33 kilograms and a minimum thickness of 4.9 millimetres, the MateBook X Pro mounts an Intel Core i7-8550U eighth-generation processor, an NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card and features an intelligent cooling system. It also incorporates four speakers with Dolby Atmos Sound System technology and a 57.4-watt-hour battery, which guarantees a 12 hours autonomy of video viewing, 14 hours of work and 15 hours of web browsing, according to the company.

Button with fingerprint sensor and hidden webcam

The Huawei MateBook X Pro integrates a fingerprint sensor on the power button that allows the user to be identified while the computer is activated. According to the figures offered by Huawei, this verification system activates the computer in 1.9 seconds from sleep mode, 6.6 seconds to exit hibernation mode and 7.8 seconds to turn it on. Its keyboard, water resistant, integrates into its upper row a false key where the ‘webcam’ of the new MateBook X Pro is hidden so that the space of the surface of the front of the equipment traditionally reserved for this module. The computer offers 2 USB-C type ports, a USB-A and a ‘jack’ port for headphones, as well as a Thunderbolt 3 connection. The laptop, which works with the Windows 10 operating system, integrates the Huawei Share service, which allows transferring files wirelessly between devices of the Chinese brand. According to the manufacturer, it enables the sending of 1,000 images in three minutes and a video of 1GB in one minute. The Huawei MateBook X Pro will reach seven markets during the second quarter of this year. It will be sold in a triple configuration: the equipment with Intel Core i5, 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal storage will cost $1499; with an i7 processor, it will be offered with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for $1699, and with the same Intel Core i7, it will be available with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for $1899.
