Google Is Testing $5 ‘Play Pass’ App & Game Subscription on Android
Well, if we look around, we will find that Android is right now the most used mobile operating system. For those who don’t know, Android is based on Linux and its open-source by nature. Due to such nature, users can enjoy different types of apps on the platform. Just take a brief look at the Android’s Google Play Store, you will find a wide range of apps and games over here. However, apps and games were divided into two categories – Free and Paid. The free apps that we download from the Google Play Store are not entirely free since they have in-app purchases. Even if the app doesn’t have any in-app purchases, it will show ads. Let’s admit, we all want to download premium apps from the Google Play Store, but the hefty price tag is what disappoint us. So, to deal with such issues, Google has started testing a new monthly subscription service for the Google Play Store. The new monthly subscription service on the Google Play Store is known as ‘Play Pass’. According to the reports from Android Police, the ‘Play Pass’ will cost $4.99, and it will offer hundreds of paid games and apps for free. The Play Pass also promises access to ‘hundreds of premium apps and games without ads, download frees or in-app purchases’. The screenshots shared by Android Police also read “Explore a curated catalog spanning puzzle games to premium music apps and everything in between. From action hits to puzzles and fitness trackers, with Google Play Pass you unlock access to hundreds of premium apps and games without ads, download fees or in-app purchases” As per the screenshots acquired by Android Police, some premium apps like Marvel Pinball, Stardew Valley, Monument Valley, Threes, Star Wars: Kotor, Ticket to Ride, etc. were listed as under the ‘Play Pass’ subscription. However, the Play Pass is still under the testing period, and more apps and games will be added soon. So, what do you think about this? Share your views with us in the comment box below.
